Ganduje pardons 10 death row detainees, 80 others from Kano Correctional Centers

Lead representative Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State, has allowed exoneration to around 90 detainees across the Correctional Centers in Kano, in festival of the Holy Eid el Kabir festivity.

An assertion from the Kano Command of The Nigerian Correctional Service, Mr Musbahu Lawal, spread the word about this on Saturday.

It said that the prisoners were exculpated and delivered in view of different classes of offenses.

“Around 77 detainees’ fines were settled and remunerated while 10 prisoners on Death Row (IDR) were likewise absolved by the lead representative.”

Among the 10 waiting for capital punishment, three were condemned to life detainment, including a female detainee, the assertion said.

The Correctional authority verified the acceptable conduct and commitment of the liberated prisoners, towards their reconstruction programs and had shown regret for their wrongdoings.

The assertion further uncovered that notwithstanding the opportunity, Ganduje offered them N5,000 each, to act as transport passage.

The Comptroller of Corrections, Kano State Command, Mr Sulaiman Inuwa, praised the lead representative in the interest of the Controller General of Corrections, Mr Haliru Nababa.

He communicated appreciation to the lead representative for the steady help and help to the control over the long haul.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that since commencement, the Ganduje organization had made it a custom to visit the restorative places for Sallah festivity.
